The Utah Radio Contests blog has been inactive for a while because the previous blogger has moved out of state. I'm going to pick up where he left off.

I'm a former Marketing and Promotions Director for a handful of Salt Lake City radio stations. I'll update weekly with a list of all of the radio stations and their current contests. I hope this will make it easy for everyone to have one central location to go to and stay updated on all of the current radio contests. I also hope that everyone will feel free to comment and chime in and give additional help and let us all know what you have won... and let me know if there is a contest that I'm missing. I've noticed that the local TV stations are starting to run a lot of contests, so I'll probably post those as well.

Winning radio contests is actually a lot easier than most people think. Industry research shows that only 1-2% of any given radio station's listeners actually participate in the contests. So, you're odds of winning are better than Vegas!

Think about this... have you been to a local radio station remote broadcast lately??? No one goes to them, and the radio stations almost always have a good stock of free stuff to give away at them (they are getting paid to be at some car dealership or grocery store and to look good to the paying client they have to show up with a lot of free stuff to giveaway).

Radio stations have more free stuff to give away than they know what to do with.

So this past week I did not win anything, actaully I have not won much of anyhthing lately. I guess I am waiting for some Disneyland trips or something. But one station is about to start this week, B98.7's secret sound. Also yesterday I went to win a car at Mark Miller Subaru. I did not win but here are some pictures from the evernt. I did not even get to try my key, luckily the winner got her chance only 7 or 8 people into the even so we did not have to wait for ever, but I was looking foward to acting like I won like I did 2 years ago when even though my key did not work I made a gasp and acted like it did.

So I won 2nd row tickets to Daughtry here in Utah today on the Bee. But I realized after I won them that we will be leaving for Disneyland the next day so we will not be able to go. So I decided to give them to one of the followers of my blog. So to be entered this is what you need to do: You get one entry for being a follower of my blog, plus for every person you get to follow my blog (they need to leave a comment saying who (by follower name) sent them to the blog). So get as many friends as you can to join in behalf of your name. Since the contest is not till April you have some time. I will close the giveaway at the end of February.

As always the rules to this can change at any time, I am just giving this prize to someone I happen to know, and I am not liable for any costs, damages, or the fact that you did not get picked. Hints on Winning Radio Contests

So many people ask me how I win so many contests. I tell them the real trick is to just TRY, the more you try the higher chances are of winning. Below are some tricks or hints that may help you: This list will be updated as I think of more.

Use at least 2 phones. I usually use my cell phone and then my home phone or work phone.
When you know a contest is coming up dial the station number so that all you will have to do is redial.
On the popular contests you will most likely get a busy signal (so you have no idea what caller they are on) if it rings, do not hang up, if they all ready have a winner it will usually keep ringing till you are disconnected.
Keep trying over and over again, even when getting a busy signal. Some DJ's start answering phones right away whole others wait a while before they start. Sometimes when I finally get the ring I am convinced I am too late, but then they answer and I win.
Listen to several stations during the day and know when they are giving the prizes you want.
Always enter the online one's that do not require you to actaully listen to win.

So this is my first attempt to post on this blog. I am starting out with just a few stations, but look to have more added as the months go on. The post is divided by radio station and then under each radio station I have it broken out by if it is a temporary contest or one the radio station does day in and day out.
